Do I need to download or install anything?

No. The game is a web page. There is no installer, no browser extension and no plugin — it runs on the canvas element that every modern browser already supports.

Does it need Flash?

No. Flash stopped working in all browsers at the end of 2020, which is why most old browser-game sites went dark. This game is JavaScript and never used Flash, so there was nothing to rescue.

Will it run on a school Chromebook?

Yes. A Chromebook runs a browser, and a browser is all this needs. The same applies to locked-down Windows machines where you are not allowed to install software.

No. Arrow keys or WASD to move, Space to jump, Shift to run. A gamepad works if you have one, but nothing here depends on it.

How do I turn the sound off quickly?

Press M to mute and P to pause. Both work instantly, without opening any menu. Clicking outside the game window pauses it as well.

Do I need an account?

No. Nothing to sign up for, nothing to log into, no email. Your progress lives in the browser tab and is gone when you close it.

The word comes from a era when school computers ran Flash games from a handful of sites, and administrators blocked those sites one by one. Sites that called themselves “unblocked” were simply the ones not on the list yet.

That whole category died with Flash at the end of 2020. What replaced it is ordinary web pages: the game is JavaScript drawing on a canvas, the same technology as any chart or map you see online. There is no separate plugin to allow or forbid.

What this page does not do is get you around a filter your school or employer put in place. If an administrator has blocked this address, it stays blocked — that is their decision about their network, and there is no trick here for it. Starting from World 1-1 every time gets old. Every stage has its own address that opens straight into it, so you can pick up where you are interested rather than where the game insists you begin:

• World 1-2 — the first Warp Zone, three pipes to worlds 2, 3 and 4
• World 4-2 — the second Warp Zone, straight to worlds 5 through 8
• World 8-4 — the final castle, if you only want the ending
• A randomly generated level — a different one every time
